This piece was initially fully made in blender. Including sculpting, low poly, texturing and finally – post-processing.
I really wanted to make a painterly look and I spent most of my time refining my custom implementation of the Kuwahara filter for Blender. It was heavily inspired by this video from Acerola.
When I showed it proudly to a friend of mine he told me that blender already has a Kuwahara filter built-in. I must of been sleeping under a rock. So instead of just scratching the full project I took my knowledge and remade the filter for the Godot engine.
